ORLANDO (Feb. 12, 2013) – This year, Quality Inn International, located in the heart of the attractions corridor on Orlando’s International Drive, greets 2013 with a fresh, updated look in its lobby, restaurant, lounge and gift shop, as well as brand new meeting space ideal for small meetings and family reunions, and complimentary Wi-Fi in all guest rooms, common areas and meeting space. The hotel’s extensive remodel is evident from the moment guests step into the lobby, where they’re greeted with a refreshing, contemporary color palette of blues, teals, greens and whites, the focal point of which is the check-in desk fronted in sparkling blue glass tiles and patterned white panels. The waiting area features comfortable sofas including a high-backed circular settee in citrus green as well as a flat screen television.

The 240-seat Fountainview Restaurant, formerly called the Apothecary Restaurant, has been modernized with a fresh new design, more flexible seating and a more efficient floor plan for guests’ convenience and comfort. Offering buffet dining for breakfast and dinner, the restaurant’s buffet area was relocated to allow more efficient guest flow and the buffet was elegantly re-surfaced with tiger’s eye glass tiles and a granite top. The dining area is now lighter and brighter, with creamy white reflective ceilings and walls painted in cheerful shades of soft gold with splashes of tangerine and raspberry in the colorful floral artwork. Light-toned Java wood tables and chairs provide a beautiful contrast to the soft purple banquettes, which were made to accommodate large families or groups with extra-long, six-foot benches. All of the furnishings are American made. The Fountainview continues to offer its incredibly popular Kids Eat FREE Program by which children ages 9 and under receive complimentary breakfast and dinner buffets when accompanied by a paying adult.

The Topsy Turvey Lounge also has been dramatically transformed into a more inviting space for families with children as well as for groups to gather and socialize following a day of meetings. A mixture of sofas, booths, bar-height benches and chairs provide plenty of comfortable seating choices that can easily accommodate larger gatherings or provide quiet nooks for intimate conversation. After a day of meetings or touring the theme parks, guests can enjoy cocktails and appetizers, watch sports or enjoy karaoke, which is offered three times weekly. Throughout the lounge, the colors are rich yet relaxed, with tones of midnight blue, gold and lime green, including a deep blue granite bar top, and accents in burnished silver. Hand-forged iron pendants with rectangular shades hover over the new pool tables while custom sconces are reminiscent of the original Topsy Turvey décor.

For the convenience of its guests, the hotel created a new meeting facility with a 1,000 square-foot Tamar Meeting Room and a 300-square foot Rinny Board Room that are perfect for small corporate meetings, church and school groups, family reunions and other events. The names offer a peek at the hotel’s rich history. Tamar Inns was the original name of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, and the Quality Inn International was the very first hotel President/COO Harris Rosen purchased in 1974. The Rinny Room is named in honor of the late Rin Tin Tin, Rosen’s faithful German Shepherd. Rosen and “Rinny” lived in the hotel together in the early days of the business, when Rosen was not only the owner but also the general manager, front desk clerk, landscaper, security guard, and “chief cook and bottle washer.”

Renovations of the lobby, restaurant, lounge and meeting space followed an extensive remodel of guest rooms in 2010. Every guest room received all new furniture that was made in America, as well as new carpet, drapes, luxurious pillow-top mattresses and stylish, yet comfortable bedding. The rooms feature a warm, inviting and comfortable color palette using soothing shades of gold, russet and accents of green. The hotel listened to guest requests and feedback — adding a beautiful traditional wardrobe with distinctive molding in warm chestnut tones, designer doors to close off the vanity area for added privacy, a fully upholstered lounge chair and an ergonomic work area. Careful attention was paid to serviceable lighting in the room with finishes in bronzes with ivory shades that included convenience plugs. The hotel has also added amenities such as a complimentary programmable safe that’s large enough to accommodate a laptop as well wireless Internet. The family-friendly hotel still offers in-room refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers so guests can shop at the onsite late night, mini-market/deli, and then store, refrigerate and reheat meals and snacks at their convenience. Fully accessible ADA rooms are also available.

The Quality Inn International offers 728 luxuriously appointed, “semi-suite” guest rooms outfitted with two double beds. A swimming pool, video arcade and gift shop offer downtime from the theme parks, while a full-service buffet-style restaurant, sports bar and lounge and late night mini-market/deli offer plenty of onsite dining options.
