As some people will remember, we went along to the Florida Homes & Gardens Show here in Orlando this weekend, and bought tickets for a special charity event organised by the Rosen Hotels group. All the funds raised went to Harris Rosen’s Little Haiti House project, which is an incredibly visionary drive to provide cheap, sustainable prefab housing for victims of the earthquake disaster.
A new type of house that could help earthquake victims in Haiti is being shown off this weekend at the Central Florida Home & Garden Show.
The house can be built for just hundreds of dollars and could help the homeless in Haiti.
It may be more than a year later, but the relief effort is still in full gear. Just ask these hoteliers.
Orlando hotelier Harris Rosen’s Little Haiti House is on display Wednesday in his Rosen Shingle Creek® hotel in Orlando. He plans to send solar-and/or wind-powered modular homes to Haiti.
