Harris Rosen Heart of Central Florida Award Created to Honor Rosen’s Life, Legacy and Commitment to Community Service

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 8, 2026) — Rosen Hotels & Resorts (RHR) announced the creation of the Harris Rosen Heart of Central Florida Award along with its inaugural recipient, Michael Brown, president and CEO of Travel + Leisure. Josh Rosen, RHR’s executive vice president, presented the award to Brown during Orlando magazine’s 50 Most Powerful celebration at Rosen Plaza’s 3NINE venue.

Created in honor of the late Harris Rosen, founder of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, the award recognizes individuals whose leadership, compassion and commitment to service have made a lasting impact on Central Florida and helped create opportunities for others through meaningful community investment.

Brown’s philanthropic efforts have been heavily inspired by Harris Rosen’s legacy of community engagement and educational investment. Rosen’s nationally recognized Tangelo Park Program and subsequent expansion into Orlando’s Parramore community demonstrated how sustained support, early childhood education and scholarship opportunities can help break cycles of poverty and create pathways to success.

With Rosen’s guidance, Brown launched the Travel + Leisure Eatonville Scholarship Program in June 2021, with the goal of helping Eatonville’s students attend college and graduate debt-free. Eatonville is the oldest African American-incorporated municipality in the United States.
