ORLANDO, FL (September 9, 2025) — Rosen Hotels & Resorts has announced its inaugural Founder’s Day, celebrating the life and legacy of Harris Rosen, the company’s late founder, president and chief operating officer. The observance will now take place each year on September 9—Rosen’s birthday.

Rosen is best known for founding Rosen Hotels & Resorts in 1974, growing the company into one of Florida’s most respected hospitality brands. His generous philanthropy led to the creation of two preschool programs and hundreds of college scholarships in two of Central Florida’s underserved communities, breakthroughs in cancer research and the creation of UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. His legacy will forever continue to shape the company’s values and mission.

This year, Rosen Hotels & Resorts invites people to wear blue—Mr. Rosen’s favorite color—along with the company’s “do the right thing” bracelet. Associates are also encouraged to do one act of kindness in Mr. Rosen’s honor and to take a moment to enjoy the evening’s sunset, which was one of his favorite pastimes.

“Birthdays were always important to Mr. Rosen—he would personally call associates to wish them a happy birthday.
