Presents the Inaugural Sock It to Cancer Tree Decorating and Sock Drive

Friday, December 6, 2019 | 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM at Rosen Shingle Creek

On November 23, 2018, at the young age of 26, Adam Michael Rosen tragically passed away from a rare form of brain cancer. In life, Adam was notoriously known by many for wearing the most colorful socks and bow ties. As any true fashionista would, Adam took great pride in how he looked and also how he lived. With his great sense of style and giant smile, Adam was a bright light to his family, friends, and also those he worked with at Rosen Hotels & Resorts. In addition to some of Adam’s favorite things, he also loved the Christmas season which is why this is the perfect time to honor him and the foundation created in his name.

Every holiday season, some of our favorite local nonprofit groups participate in the Rosen Shingle Creek Nonprofit Partners Christmas Tree Decorating Event. Each of our partners dedicate time and effort to come to the hotel to decorate and theme their Christmas tree to their organization’s mission. Once decorated, the trees are proudly displayed throughout Rosen Shingle Creek’s lobby with each nonprofit’s mission and information.

This year in support of The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation, our nonprofit partners have joined us in promoting a one-of-a-kind fundraiser. Before moving these spectacular trees out of our ballroom and into our public space, we invite you to an exclusive holiday fundraising event to benefit this newly created foundation and to celebrate and recognize our favorite nonprofit partners and their volunteers who meticulously and tirelessly decorate these amazing trees.

Sock Drive and Tree Decorating Contest
Bring a pair of new adult- or child-sized holiday socks and at the same time, vote on your favorite nonprofit tree. Each nonprofit tree will be furnished with a sock basket. Place your donated socks in the basket under your favorite tree. You may bring up to 5 pairs of socks per person and you can vote on multiple trees. Whichever tree collects the most socks, they will receive a sizeable donation towards their charity from The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation.

If you forget or run out of socks, voucher tickets will be sold for $5.00 each and can be used to vote for your favorite tree.

At the conclusion of the event, all socks will be collected by The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation and distributed to area hospitals and families in need of some holiday comfort during the most challenging times in their lives.

The Party
Enjoy our beautiful ballroom decorated for the season as 25 of Orlando’s most prestigious nonprofit organizations put the finishing touches on their holiday Christmas trees. Grab the microphone and join our very own “Rockin’ Robin” singing holiday songs and karaoke. Take a photo from our custom photo booth and enjoy a 2-hour festive reception highlighted with culinary treats, desserts and a holiday signature drink included (cash bar available).
