Local Nonprofit Wins Rosen Shingle Creek’s “A Tree-Mendous Affair” Contest

Orlando, FL (December 28, 2023) – This month, guests voted Canine Companions for Independence as the winner of Rosen Shingle Creek’s “A Tree-Mendous Affair” tree decorating contest. The local nonprofit organization received a $5,000 donation from the Harris Rosen Foundation as a winning prize.

About 350 visitors stopped by to view the holiday tree display and vote for their favorite one. Nonprofit organizations from the Central Florida area each decorated a tree during a fierce two-hour period on December 4.

The participating nonprofit organizations include:

  • Best Buddies of Florida
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida
  • Canine Companions for Independence
  • Central Florida Community Arts
  • Coalition for the Homeless
  • Fun spot America Foundation
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Lovey Loaves Animal Rescue Animal Rescue
  • Orlando Kidz Zone
  • Promise in Brevard
  • Quest
  • Real Angels Foundation
  • Runway to Hope
  • Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center
  • Rosen Gives Back
  • Shepherd’s Hope
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
  • The Rosen JCC

While people cast their votes, a choir group from Central Florida Community Arts played holiday classics. Children were able to meet with Santa and his elves while snacking on hot cocoa and cookies. The adults enjoyed a festive atmosphere and refreshing holiday cocktails!

The forest of festive trees will be on display through January 1st at Rosen Shingle Creek, located at 9939 Universal Boulevard in Orlando.
